Pedlar Bantam Panthers split in weekend games
The Pedlar Funeral Home Bantam Panthers faced two challenging opponents in their final weekend of play for 2014, with mixed results.

On Saturday, Dec 20th, the Pedlar Panthers faced off against Pelham #1.  Matt Vandenhaak started things off with a highlight-reel-worthy display of stickhandling down the length of the ice before emptying the puck in the net.  Mitchell Karnay earned the assist on the goal.  Charlie Devries doubled the score with a rocket to the netting heled by Karnay & Elliot Song, and Karnay deked his way around the netminder to claim goal #3 from Jack Obdeyn & Joey Natale.  Ethan Wellman picked up the final goal on the power play from Spencer Reynolds & Devries to earn the 4-1 win for goalie, Ross Michalko.

On Sunday, the Panthers hosted Grimsby #3.  Grimsby got off to a quick lead scoring twice in the first two minutes.  The Panthers answered by knotting the score with a goal by Mitchell Karnay from Charlie Devries & Spencer Reynolds and a short-handed goal by Matt Vandenhaak helped by Joey Natale & Elliot Song.  Finding themselves down 2 again at the end of the 2nd period, Spencer Reynolds picked up a pair of goals in the 3rd helped on the first by Ethan Wellman & Blaise Zantinge, and on the second by Zantinge & Vandenhaak.  In the end though, it wasn’t enough as the Panthers lost a tough one 4-5.
