Pelham Flames win the Dresden Cup (Jan 30 - Feb 1 2015)
In the middle of what felt like nowhere - while the Dresden arena rocked - it was the Pelham Flames that took the tournament by storm!  The Dresden Kinsmen Cup is now on Pelham soil!  An elated bunch of 6, 7 and 8 year old boys could not contain their joy!  When the buzzer sounded - the crowd went wild as gloves and sticks went flying.  This was not only the first tournament WIN for the Flames - it was the first tournament EVER for more than half of the kids on the roster!

The team, built around speed and skill, from Pelham Minor Hockey, skated into their fans hearts with a dominating performance that started on Friday night with a 12-3 win over the Mooretown Vipers.  On Saturday morning, the Flames came out on top again with a convincing 6-1 victory over the Dresden White team.  When the dust settled on Saturday afternoon, the Pelham Flames found themselves on top of their pool with a one way ticket to the semi-finals on Sunday morning!  Sunday's semi-final game proved to be the toughest - with only 4 minutes left in the 3rd period and down by 2, the Flames scored 3 unanswered goals to come back and beat the Delhi Rockets 5-4!  What an amazing effort!  This win sent the Flames into the finals with the momentum they needed to defeat the Wallaceburg Lakers 5-3.

The crowd (filled with parents, sisters and brothers) were unbelievable.  They cheered the team on every step of the way.  The Flames couldn't have done it without them.  Not one parent will ever forget watching all 14 Flames lined up on the blue line - each with a huge smile on their face as they were presented with the Dresden Cup and their very own championship mini-stick.

On behalf of the coaches and parents, congratulations boys!  We are very proud of you!
