U13 LL#1 Canada - USA Friendship Game a Big Success
Submitted By PMHA Secretary on Mon 02 27, 23
Our U13 LL#1 panthers had an experience of a lifetime this past Saturday.  It all started at SilverStick when a connection was made between the Niagara Junior Purple Eagles and the Pelham Panther U13 LL#1 team. The coaching staff on both teams thought it would be great to have a series of games between the two team on each side of the border as a USA / Canada friendship game.

Since both teams were very equally matched we knew this would be a great series.  The day started playing at an amazing facility called Dwyer Arena. This arena is the home of the Division 1 Niagara State University Purple.  The game saw both teams with many opportunities to score but both Goalies and Teams were stellar.  Highlights of the game were having the jumbotron on while the kids were playing, having a penalty free game and ultimately winning 3-1 with an open net goal at the end. The 2 teams and parents  then went to Sammy’s Pizza and had a meal together as one big family. It was great to see so many people that loved the game in one spot celebrating together.  Then the Niagara Junior Purple entertained us at a Division 1 game between NSU and Mercyhurst. Both Niagara Junior Purple and our Pelham Panthers joined together and were showing their hockey spirit by starting the wave, chants and cheering on the NSU team. This also got them on the Jumbotron many times. We think that all our cheering helped NSU close out their season with a 5-3 victory.  This opportunity was a great success and we can not wait to host them here at the MCC. Thank you to Niagara Junior Purple Eagles and our Pelham Panthers for making a great success and showing Pelham Pride.  Stay tuned for the date and time of our Home Game and we would love to have all our panthers come out and watch and show them Pelham Pride.
