The Pelham Minor Midget Panthers - sponsored by Fonthill Dental - went up to Schomberg today and came away with a 2-1 victory to win the Ontario Minor Hockey Association title in the fifth game of the series!
For many players on the team, and for the coaching staff, this is their 2nd title in two years!
The Panthers had come home for game 4 trailing in the series, but rallied with victories in games 4 and 5 to win the series.
After a long delay to start the game, both teams came out flying in a very fast paced first period. The teams settled in to a physical and up & down game during the second period with numerous scoring chances for both sides, but went into the intermission tied at zero.
Pelham came out in the third period and popped in two early goals which proved to be enough.
Congratulations to John, Mike, Jay and Brent for a job well done behind the bench this season, and to all the players great job, and congratulations on the Red Hats!
