Novice BB Panthers Win in Thorold Tourney
Submitted By Novice Panthers on Wed 11 16, 16
This past weekend the Kirkpatrick Stoneworks
Novice Rep BB Panthers team took part in the Beaverloch Tournament in Thorold. They
managed to win a tight game against the Petrolia Oilers 5-4 to start the
tournament.
The boys struggled in game two losing to Twin Centre 5 -4.
Later that day, the team was highly motivated by the return of defenseman J. Dunn and put in a dominating performance beating Belmont 5-1. The young Panthers were able to carry that momentum into Sunday beating Thorold in the semi-final 7 - 1.
The finals was a rematch against their first opponent of the tournament the Petrolia Oilers. The Panthers controlled the game from the drop of the puck showing a lot of heart and playing great team defense. However, they had two goals called back in the first period and entered the second period tied 0 - 0. The Panthers were able to find the back of the net several times in the second and third finishing the championship game with a 5 - 0 victory.
It was a great team effort! The entire coaching staff is proud of the boys and are looking forward to our next tournament in Fort Erie.
We are ..... PANTHERS!
