Deekeing, Danger Zone, No-Stickhandling Zone (Updated Video Link)
Highlights from the Sabres-Capitals game show everything we have been working on this season, and show how what we practice will help you as long as you keep playing hockey.

On the first goal, the Buffalo player comes in on the side of the net and uses the exact same deeke we've been practicing.  It works on NHL Goalies, and it works on our goalies too.

The second goal is scored on a Buffalo mistake.  The winger has a chance to clear the zone, but instead tries to stickhandle in the No-Stickhandling zone.  He loses puck, and Washington makes him pay.  Washington scores by passing across The Golden Road to a player waiting in the 3-man spot, with his stick on the ice.

On the third goal, it's Washington who makes the mistake.  The defenseman tries to clear the zone, but puts the puck into the Danger Zone instead of up the boards. Buffalo makes a pass across the Golden Road, and gets the goal because a player chased the rebound.

The fourth goal was scored by a player who was standing in the 3-man spot and keeping an eye on the puck.

The game winner is scored on another pass across the Golden Road.

Here are all the things we have been working on in practice being used in an NHL game. Even NHL-ers forget about the Danger Zone and the No-Stickhandling Zone, and it costs them goals too.  And even NHL goalies are easy to beat when you get the puck across the Golden Road.

We'll keep practicing these things, and if you work hard at them you'll continue to be successful in the game.
